The Last Mougal

Finished reading Sept 2007.  William Dalrymple has in is characteristic style, elegently described about the last emprorror of india, Bahadur Shah Jafar.   The story of the emporror is just the backdrop of a more eventful incident, the 1857 mutiny. This is a well researched book and describes the politics during the period resulting in 1857 mutiny. Reading through the book, you’d feel your in the era of old Delhi with the gazals of Galib and Jafar himself.
