The main story of this book is about a tiger that had made the vicinity of a temple his hunting ground. Unlike it may sound, the temple tiger was never a man-eater but found a appetite for cattle. After several attempts to shoot him, Jim Corbett develops a sense of admiration for the animal, that had come so close to its death but miracilously escaped the bullet.
Jim also writes about several other man eater leapord and tigers in this book.
